My dear nursing friend, Rachel!

She's moving and this will be the last time I see her... for now.  Her friendship has made me so happy, but I'm not liking the fact that she's moving either.  Kind of bittersweet.  Knowing she's moving on to better things is the sweeter part and I'm grateful for that.  She's a great person and deserves to be happy!

I just wish we could be going through post grad life together in the same state.  
But long distance never hurt anyone though, right? :)

Pumpkin Carving!!!

Ferlayna and I worked on this together... but she did the better part of the carving! I wasn't much help, I kept cutting it all weird.

Hanging out with my girlfriends and having one of those fantastic, much needed girl talks.  Just being with friends makes me so happy, especially when there's ice cream involved!

Love these two girls and I'm glad they're a part of my life.

It's a huge event that occurs every year that has live music with well known artists and cheap food from all the restaurants here in Las Vegas!!!

We had another celebration for Leah's birthday so of course we decided to trash her room! My friend Ferlayna helped me out.

 Happy Birthday Leah!!!

I decorated her and she doesn't look too pleased, but I know she secretly liked it ;)

Her day made me happy even if she wasn't fond of the attention and probably hated me afterwards for it, but I loved it!

I know it was her day, but it made me happy to spoil her and to be able to celebrate this birthday with her.

Rain is usually associated with sadness, but walking in it sort of makes me happy because it rarely rains in Vegas... but also because my dog was freaking out and running as fast as she could to get back inside to escape the pelts!! She looked like a little rag doll when we finally made it in.

Shopping, eating lunch with Ferlyana (cute girl pictured in the previous post), and just having a good time is my defintion of happy. 

And of course I would forget my camera to capture any of it!!! So this is after I got home.  I got myself a nice, needed gift :)

She will probably come up in my pictures a lot for how happy she makes me all the time! She just thinks the best of me and always keeps me positive. 

Plus, she's really good at being a detective.  That's all I can say to keep her identity a secret ;)

So I got my first rejection email today.. actually ended up having two.  It didn't feel too good at first so I decided to try and be optimistic... I went out and bought a new "interview me" outfit!

It's so funny how people meet, click, and then end up being a part of your life in such a big way without either of you planning on it.  We met at a bridal shower I was throwing for another good friend of ours and the rest is history.

What makes me so happy is that she is so good to me and I'm so lucky to have her in my life! She is one of my good friends that has stuck by me through my ordeal of nursing school.  She was so supportive then and still is even now.  That has meant so much to me! Thank you my dear :)

The best part is, she's going to be a nurse someday too! So now I get to return the favor :)

I decided to finally finish a cross-stitching project I had started some time ago.  I gave up on it because I had made one little mistake that would have thrown off everything and I was too stubborn to go back and fix it so I stuffed it in a drawer and avoided it. 

(Oh, that's how we are about life isn't it!?)

But it definitely made me happy when I took the time to fix it.  I realized anything can be fixed if you take the time for it and are willing to put in the effort.  Lame I know, but so glad to start seeing it develop in to something.

Today was an up and down kind of day.  I hate those kind of days.  Technology hates me, I wanted to pull my hair out, I'm stressing about looking for jobs... all the usual stuff.  

I needed to find something to make me happy today and was thinking I wouldn't be able to, but luckily for me, my best friend Leah came in and saved the day without even realizing it.  I love her and I can never stay down when I'm around her.  If I didn't have her in my life I'd go insane!!

These are two of my closest nursing friends who shared the most excruciating, painful, craziest, hardest 16 months of my life with!!!

They will always be a part of my life and will be the very few that will truly understand what we went through, what we're going through now, and what we will go through later on together.

Knowing that and having that in my life really makes me happy! Especially when I want to vent, eat, and stress out about the future.  I'm not the only one and I love it in a weird way.

October 7

Today was just very, very stressful.

I needed to focus on something else. 

Things that distracted me and made me happy today:

Postseason baseball!! My Yankees are up two games to none and came back from behind both times :D Good baseball.  This will be a good postseason. 

Then, I went to this activity for my church to learn how to be more self-reliant and I am sooo not self-reliant... It's pathetic.  But I had lots of fun anyways.  I'm not used to taking pictures daily yet so I didn't even think to take a picture of the people I was with (duh!), but interacting and joking around with my friends made my day and I needed that.

After learning how bad I am at self-reliance, I decided I'm just going to be rich and hire someone to do it all for me :D  

This is the bread that was made and it's so yummy :) I really was with people today, not just eating like usual... I promise!

I had an old friend come in to town and we did a little site seeing.  I've always loved this part of Vegas and I truly believe chocolate can make anything better :)

Lucy...

This dog.  She came in to our lives about a month before our other dog, Maggie passed away.  It took me awhile to warm up to her because of our loss, but she eventually made the emptiness go away.

Every 6 months we get to listen to prophets and apostles of our church speak to us from the comfort of our own homes.  Growing up I really didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. 

The gospel makes me happy.

My grandparents rarely visit us because they live all the way in Guam! This was my birthday dinner celebration and it was the first time I actually got to spend time with my family without having to study! That's a miracle. 

My family makes me happy.

Once Upon a Time...

This quote was given to me by a dear friend of mine on my birthday.  It inspired me to start, yet another project, one in which I hope to actually finish, but we'll see ;)  

I want to capture memories, moments, people, life, or objects everyday that make me happy.  I realize I see things differently, act differently, and become more grateful and humbled when I choose to be happy.  It'll require a lot of effort so we'll see how it goes...
